Principal Flood Risk Consultant

 

Greater Manchester

 

Salary: £40,000 - £52,000 (Dependant on Experience)

 

Working Hours: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm (No clocking in and out)

 

Company Overview:

This award-winning flood risk and environmental engineering consultancy seeks a Principal Flood Risk Consultant to join their team in the Greater Manchester office. The company has 50 employees across its business, with one external contractor currently in the Greater Manchester office team . The role is crucial to expanding their remediation team.

 

Role Overview:

- Fee Proposals: Prepare bid/tender documents and fee proposals for both existing and new clients.

- Client and Regulator Liaison: Engage with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory/statutory authorities. Attend client and regulatory meetings.

- Report Writing: Write and review Flood Risk Assessments and SuDS Assessments.

- Business Development: Research and develop potential new clients and contribute to the growth of the Flood Risk and Drainage Team.

- Project Management: Manage a range of projects, including work winning, budget control, onsite work coordination, site inspections, and progress reporting.

- Mentor and Training: Train and develop junior staff. Support self-development and encourage staff to apply for chartership in their field.

 

Requirements:

- A strong bachelor’s degree; an additional higher degree is advantageous.

- Extensive consultancy or industry experience in Flood Risk Assessments and SuDS Assessments.

- Substantial experience in conducting Flood Risk Assessments in line with NPPF (and/or TAN 15).

- Thorough understanding of the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and Lead Local Flood Authorities.

- Up-to-date knowledge of current planning policies and procedures to enhance client service and secure necessary approvals.

- Full UK driving licence.
