Technical Sales Engineer Support Associate - £26,000

Location:
Primarily based in the Tunbridge Wells area with periodic travel to client locations as required.

Role Overview:


We’re seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join a high-performing sales support team in a hands-on, hybrid technical-commercial role. This position is ideal for someone early in their career looking to develop expertise in both client engagement and technical sales processes. You’ll be a key contributor in enabling the sales team to deliver tailored solutions, build strong client rapport, and pursue growth opportunities within various projects.




Key Responsibilities:


Client Engagement & Relationship Building
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for both prospective and current clients, helping to foster long-term partnerships.
  • Maintain a proactive communication style that encourages confidence and strengthens business connections.
  • Support the wider team in promoting technical products and services during project planning or early-stage specification phases.
Proposal & Tender Assistance
  • Work closely with the sales team to produce competitive, well-researched quotations based on client requirements and market dynamics.
  • Collaborate on bid submissions to ensure all deadlines and criteria are met.
  • Track submitted proposals and actively follow up to increase conversion rates.
Sales Development & Opportunity Tracking
  • Help generate new leads by re-engaging existing clients and uncovering new project potential.
  • Participate in occasional site visits to better understand customer needs and project environments.
  • Log and prioritise opportunities based on expected impact and alignment with strategic goals.
Commercial & Product Understanding
  • Align proposals with the client’s key motivations and project drivers.
  • Develop working knowledge of pricing strategies and margin considerations.
  • Liaise with internal delivery teams to ensure a smooth handover for confirmed projects.
Administrative & Internal Coordination
  • Keep sales records, CRM entries, and customer information accurate and up to date.
  • Support internal workflows by following documented procedures and approval chains.
  • Manage time effectively to support a dynamic and sometimes fast-paced sales environment.
