About the Role

We are seeking an experienced BIM/CAD Technician to join the Projects department of a growing business based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. This is a newly created role designed to support increasing design, modelling and coordination requirements across live and upcoming projects.

The successful candidate will work across both 3D modelling and 2D CAD production, supporting highly coordinated MEP project delivery within a compliance-driven construction environment.

Salary Package

£40,000 - £45,000

25 Days Holidays

Office Hours 9-5

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce accurate 3D BIM models and 2D CAD drawings for MEP-related project works.
  • Develop detailed sections, schematics, layouts and coordinated drawing packages.
  • Support coordination and clash detection processes using Revit, Navisworks and related BIM tools.
  • Coordinate models and drawings across multiple disciplines, ensuring interfaces between services are accurately represented.
  • Maintain compliance-led modelling processes in line with project requirements, internal standards and relevant BIM procedures.
  • Input, manage and coordinate COBie and asset data, including asset tagging for full O&M data and CNS integration.
  • Map loop circuit data within field devices where required.
  • Support scheduling, take-offs and drawing updates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review design information for coordination issues, buildability, fire compartmentation and BWIC requirements.
  • Work closely with internal project teams, external stakeholders, contractors and consultants to support successful project delivery.

Experience Required

Applicants should have proven experience working with MEP trades within the construction industry, ideally within a Tier 1 contractor or similarly structured environment. The role would suit a technically strong BIM/CAD professional who is confident working on complex, coordinated building services projects.

Required Skills and Software

The ideal candidate will be confident using AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Revizto and Bluebeam, with strong knowledge of MEP coordination, clash detection, COBie/asset data, ISO 19650 processes, scheduling, take-offs and detailed drawing production.

Salary and Package
  • Salary and package to be discussed, with flexibility to reflect market requirements and the successful candidate’s experience.
