Senior Highways Engineer
Central London
Salary : £ 52,000 - Depends On Experience
This independent Highways and Transport Planning Engineering Consultancy that have 20 people within the business are on the lookout for a highways engineer to join their infrastructure team in their London office which consists of 7 technical staff. There are 3 cad technicians and 4 engineers.
The office layout is a vibrant, inclusive office in the heart of the west-end. Their office has kitchen facilities, a break-out area with dart board and sofas with regular lunches with the wider team.

You will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Ability to develop designs in AutoCAD and Vehicle Tracking
- Working across Microsoft Office and AutoDesk platforms
- Liaison with Local Authorities and design teams to deliver Section 278’s, Section 38’s and various other highway applications (AIP’s, Highway Licenses)
- Familiarity with British Standards/Codes of Practice
- Utilise Vehicle Tracking to determine vehicle swept path analysis
- Ability to project manage smaller design projects and to utilise the abilities of the wider infrastructure team to deliver schemes
- Mentoring/ aiding professional development of junior staff
- Opportunity to visit sites during the construction period to ensure highway works are being delivered as designed
- Cost forecasting and taking on a ‘project manager’ role within design teams
Desirable skills and experience:
- Drainage design experience, and use of WinDes
- Civils3D experience
- KeySign design
- Experience working on-site will also be beneficial
