My client are an Electrical Contractor who have been operating since the 1980’s.

Based out of their office in West Sussex, they have developed an exceptional client base of Blue Chip Clients which includes projects of 30 theatres across London, Google Data Centre, Science Museum, Office Fit outs.

Their projects range between £300k - £4mil in Electrical Value and tend to last between 3 months – 12 months.

They are seeking a NICEIC Technical Services Manager to join the team and head up their Testing Department.
 

THE JOB – NICEIC Technical Services Manager


With an NICEC Supervisor reporting to you along with a solid team of Electrical Testers, along with an inhouse design department beneath you, you will be responsible for the overall running of the Testing Department.


Monday – Friday / 8am – 5pm / 40 hour weeks


You will be office based 3 days a week with being on site for 2.

You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of electrical testing and inspection activities in accordance with NICEIC standards. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing a team of electricians and testers, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism in all testing and inspection work.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance & Standards:
    • Ensure all testing and inspection work complies with NICEIC regulations, BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), and other relevant standards.
    • Keep up to date with changes in legislation and industry standards, ensuring all team members are informed and compliant.
    • Conduct internal audits and inspections to maintain NICEIC accreditation.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of electricians, testers, and apprentices, ensuring they are trained and competent to perform their duties.
    • Schedule and allocate testing and inspection work, balancing workloads to ensure efficiency and timely completion of projects.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and development plans for team members.
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of electrical testing projects, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards.
    • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate testing activities and provide updates on project progress.
    • Prepare and submit detailed reports on testing outcomes, including recommendations for remedial work where necessary.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Promote a strong safety culture within the team, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with company health and safety policies and procedures.
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate risks associated with electrical testing activities.
    • Investigate any incidents or near misses, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of testing and inspection are met.
    • Review and verify test results and certification documents before submission to clients or NICEIC.
    • Address any non-conformances or issues identified during testing, ensuring timely resolution.
SALARY & PACKAGE


£50,000 - £58,000
Bonus Scheme – project by project basis (back of house) – paid on monthly basis when projects are completed
