Electrical Estimator


An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our rapidly expanding Commercial division. We are a Design & Build contractor with in-house electrical and fire & security divisions. We work with end user clients but also on a sub-contract basis to other main contractors. 


Responsibilities:

  • Take offs from drawings, interpretation of specifications/drawings to project needs.
  • Conducting site visits to create scopes of work with existing clients.
  • You will be responsible for defining the technical requirements and feasibility of a project.
  • Dealing with wholesalers/subcontractors for quotations and making sure they meet the requirements of the project.
  • Production of electrical detailed tender bids between £25k-£2m.
  • Day-to-day management of the tender process to ensure standards are maintained and deadlines are met until the project is handed over to construction.
  • Attend mid and post tender meetings and post tender control.
 Requirements:
  • Over 3 years estimation experience from an electrical contracting background. Some knowledge also of estimating for fit out would be preferred.
  • A relevant Construction degree or HND qualification.
  • D&B estimation experience would be an advantage.
  • Experience of estimating software packages such as Trimble would be an advantage. 
  • Excellent organisational and time management.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
