Role Summary
As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be an integral part of the project team, providing technical support and learning from experienced engineers. Core responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the design and specification of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and other building services.
- Performing calculations, simulations, and system analyses to support project designs.
- Drafting system layouts and schematics using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
- Conducting site visits to gather data and assess project requirements.
- Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs align with project specifications and industry standards.
- Developing energy modelling and calculations to promote efficient, sustainable building performance.
Key Qualifications Ideal candidates should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field in the built environment, such as Architectural Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
- Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Hevacomp, IES VE) and proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to learning.
- Basic knowledge of building standards and regulations, such as CIBSE, BREEAM, and Building Regulations, is preferred.
