Then my well-established client is looking out for an ambitious and collaborative Civil Engineer with relevant UK industry experience of minimum 3+ years'.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be working alongside a highly skilled group of engineers with vast experience in UK and international projects. Similarly, they will have the opportunity work closely with the directors, enabling them to draw on their expertise directly.

  • Production of designs for infrastructure, drainage strategies and associated planning schemes to appropriate standards from initial concepts to detailed design.
  • Production of all design, drawing and documentation associated with underground drainage systems & highways schemes
  • Production of Flood Risk Assessments and External Works specifications and drawings
  • Production of private and small-scale adopted highways design and details, along with associated applications, etc.
  • Assistance in preparation of contract documents and specifications.
  • Undertaking inspections and surveys, preparation of reports and site supervision of projects.
  • Manage small projects or elements of projects as appropriate.
  • Liaise with other professionals, clients, statutory undertakers, etc.
  • Ability to complete designated tasks independently
  • Ability to manage and work alongside junior members of the team, helping to impart their knowledge and improve junior experience
  • Ability to be actively involved in proposals and ongoing project management, whilst delivering projects to budget
  • To be confident in client facing role (note: this company works for private developers, public bodies and contractors)

Successful candidate specifications:
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in a UK consultancy on both highway and drainage design schemes;
  • A proficiency using our industry-standard design packages AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Site3D and Info Drainage;
  • A practical knowledge of relevant highway and drainage design standards, guidelines and processes;
  • A proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite of software, including Excel;
  • Can multitask and manage a portfolio of projects across various scales;
  • Can communicate effectively and professionally with the design team, clients, and contractors;
  • Good written skills;
  • Understand the multi-disciplinary nature of projects from the planning stage, through to completion;
  • Chartered or working towards being chartered is welcomed, but not essential;
