My client is an established Civil and Structural Consultancy Practice located in County Durham, and they also have a presence in Teesside, serving various industries.
Due to their expanding workload, they are in search of a skilled Civil/Structural Technician for their Teesside office who can also assist in the Durham office when necessary. They provide opportunities for ongoing training and career growth for individuals seeking a long-term commitment. The successful candidate should be prepared to visit project sites across the UK when required.
This is a permanent, full-time position, requiring 37.50 hours over five days, with flexible working arrangements.
Person specifications:
- Relevant qualifications like an HNC are preferred but not mandatory
- Demonstrated proficiency in using Revit and AutoCAD to create Civil and Structural Engineering drawings, including details in Concrete, Masonry, Steelwork, and Timber.
- Management of incoming and outgoing models and drawing information.
- Effective workload management and accountability for delivering high-quality results.
- Preparation of models, drawings, and details based on Engineering calculations and basic markups, following BIM Execution Plans and BIM, and Company Standards with moderate support.
- Familiarity with BIM authoring applications, such as Revit.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
Desirable skills include:
- Experience in project delivery and attention to detail.
- Design coordination expertise.
- Familiarity with BIM applications like Revit, BIM360/ACC.
- Knowledge of Reinforced Concrete Detailing.
- Experience with Civil 3D.
- Previous exposure to highways and drainage projects.
- An interest in pursuing IStructE/ICE qualifications and gaining EngTech status.
Salary and benefits:
- Highly competitive salary package, with earnings of up to £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
- Flexible working scheme allows for up to 12 additional days of leave throughout the year.
- After 12 months of service, they provide a modest bonus scheme twice yearly, contingent on business and personal performance.
