GRADUATE STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER for beautiful location in the lake district 

would you like to work for a niche structural design consultancy alongside 2 chartered structural design engineers and one near chartered engineer.  All staff have worked in the company from 6 to 20 years and two of which joined a graduate/ junior engineer level.

The company undertake a wide range of interesting and challenging structural engineering projects from windmills to churches to catherdrals and heritage properties. 
This is a great opportunitity to learn from engineers with excellent knowledge and expertise in the industry. They have a fun inclusive environment and often employ interns that are part way through their engineering studies giving them an excellent understanding of how to apply theory to real life projects.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Reports to the Senior Engineers but with ultimate responsibility to the Managing Director.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have legal status to work in the UK now and in the future
  • Hold a Civil engineering degree ideally at MEng level as a minimum 
  • Hold a full driving license.




MAIN DUTIES:
  • Undertaking of structural calculations either by hand or using FEA desigfn software
  • Design of structural elements/ buildings for a variety of different projects
  • Drafting of plans / sections elevations and general arrangement drawings using REVIT and AutoCAD
  • To attend site if required for the purpose of carrying out surveys, site investigations and attending meetings if requested. 
  • To assist with liaising with clients, their representatives, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors in order to convey design information, receive and interpret data and solve any problems relating to company services.
  • To assist with liaising with colleagues if required to determine solutions to engineering problems.
  • To carry out any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Senior Design Engineer and/ senior members of the company.
  • To assist with the organisation, control and management of contracts within the office.
